I Fought the Law...

How many of you know the song I Fought the Law and the Law Won?
I'll give you a sec to get the tune in your head.........................

Got it? Ok, so sing it with me,

I fought the law and the law won, I fought the law and the law won.

Ok, let's change the words a bit...

I fought the bike and the bike won.

Sing it with the tune yet again.

I fought the bike and the bike, I fought the bike and the bike won...

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!
Went for a bike ride the other day, all the kids and Curt on his bike, and me walking with Thad in his stroller. Anyways, we don't get very far at all (for those of you who knew where we lived in Iowa, take it from the top of our driveway to the end of 58th Street before turning onto Grand, that's how far) Kotah somehow fell. We aren't 100% sure how. Curt was up riding in front, then Kotah, Gavin and Skylar, and of course me bringing up the rear, VERY rear! :O) Curt came riding back to me and we started to say something and we both look up at the same time and see her on the ground!
At first she REFUSED to get back on to ride home, but me being the good parent that I am, forced her back on! :O) Curt took the stroller with Thad and then Gavin and Skylar and went on for a little bit while I took his bike and Kotah back to the house to get her cleaned up.
We get back to the house and I realize I don't have keys to get in, I am like, oh great, seriously! Then I remembered that the kitchen window was open, so I opened the screen and picked Kotah up and up she went in! Thank goodness a cop didn't go by! :O)
So after I took some pics I clean her up! She is fine and back to riding her bike! In fact, the next day, we all went for a bike ride again and we all did fine! We are thinking of investing in football helmets for all the kids instead of the normal bike helmets! Might come in handy!! :o)

Thankfully her teeth are ok as well! These are her permanent ones and we were worried about them, but they seem to be ok! Whew...

Here is what she looks like now... Getting better, but boy do I feel bad when people STARE at her out in public!!! I wanna put a sign on her shirt saying "Yes, I fell off my bike, Yes I was wearing a helmet, STOP STARING!" I am so thankful she isn't self conscious about things like this, yet! It is starting to scab over, so as long as she doesn't pick it, I am thinking it won't scar to bad!

This pic is from Saturday. The accident was Friday.

Run-Aways

Wow, this has seriously been an eventful week! Starting off with the whole fabric softener mis-hap, which you can read on here if you didn't see or hear about it! Then Curt left Monday nite, Tuesday, well, it was ok, we had mom's group and the kids were acting up a bit, but nothing too bad... Then Wednesday I had a meeting at the church... It started out ok, the meeting wasn't long at all! Gavin came into the room and said he wanted to go play outside on the playground. I told him no, because I couldn't see him. I said, what if someone came by and picked you up and grabbed you and took you somewhere? Mommy would never see you again and I would be soooo sad! I said, I can't see you, so you need to stay inside. Well, not more than 3 minutes passed and Kotah comes up to me and says, uh, mom, Gavin is trying to go outside. So, I get up, go over to him and talk. I asked him what is he doing? he says, I WANT to play OUTSIDE! I said, bubby, I can't see you, so you can...

Judah's Wife Book Review

I received this book from Bethany House for free if I agreed to read and then blog about it. Judah's Wife is by Angela Hunt. I've read a few of her books and absolutely enjoyed and loved them!  I was very excited to be picked to read this book! I've honestly not read anything from the books of Maccabees.  This story is the "silent years' between Malachi and Matthew. I really would like find Maccabees now to read it since I've read this book. This book was amazing! Love being able to read stories that really capture what it was like.  Angela Hunt has done this in this book. I really enjoyed how she told it from Judah's side and Leahs side.  It would go back and forth, but it wasn't confusing at all. Talks about Leahs up-bringing and how she struggled. Her father wasn't a real father figure and in time she realizes how much her mother protected her from her father and his blows. She struggles to truly love Judah at first who was somewhat fo...

Cancelled

What a busy crazy day! Curt left right away this morning around 7 to get his blood taken.  He got back and then Audrey got here.  We played and picked up for a bit then left to go to the Health Department to get our TB test done.  We got there around 10ish and they told us we needed to make an appointment.  So we waited for a bit to make an appointment.  Thankfully they had an opening for today yet.  They only do these tests on Friday, so we really didn't want to have to wait until next Friday if at all possible.  Got an appointment for 1:15 and 1:30.  I was thinking ugh, either no nap and very little nap, but I didn't care!  ;) Got home, cleaned up a bit more, got the kiddos some lunch, then we turned around and left to go back to the Health Department.  (I did NOT see the water guy! ;)) Got back there, got asked some questions, wanted to know why I need the test...  I said adoption.  They saw all the other 5 kids and as...
