Dad went to Goshen this morning to have his stomach pumped, I know, not the right way to say it, but I don't feel like writing out the "correct" term! I am known for making up names for things. ;o)
They weren't sure if they were going to be able to do anything at first. Mom asked them if they needed a certain amount of fluid in order to do the procedure and they said they did. If not, they could damage the bladder or some other organ. SO, the nurse went to talk to the doc and he said to put dad on his side, they rolled him to his side and were able to find a pocket of fluid then. So they got out 1/2 liter. The nurse told them it doesn't need to be a huge amount every time they do it, just as long as dad is more comfy, and he was! Of course, it may have to do with the amount of pain meds he took BEFORE going in! ;o) Dad took a vicodin before even leaving to help with the pain. Then at 9:30 he took 2 MORE, yes folks, I said 2 as in T-W-O!!! ;o) Mom and I were talking before they left and we said that he could take one more about 9:30 to help with the pain, but he wanted to take 2. So... he said that the doc he had this time was MUCH better! But we were thinking it was the amount of vicodin that he took beforehand! LOL ;o) Later mom gave dad a kiss and asked how he was feeling, he said he was ok. Then mom asked if he wanted another vicodin, dad's reply, "Oh heavens no!" So... He was a tad loopy. But atleast he didn't feel any pain! Or hardly any at all! ;o)
He said he is feeling a tad bloated, but we are thinking that may be the case from now on.
He meets with Dr Pennington on early Tuesday. Will find out if there is ANYTHING they can do to help or if he doesn't have anymore ideas. Then will decide if he wants Hospice to come in and help out ot what...
We will be playing more hand and foot tonite, will see if the guys can beat the girls! The girls beat the guys MAJORLY!!!!!!!!!!!! ;o) Will see what happens! We may have to play half tonite and then the other half tomorrow. But that's ok! it's still fun!!! ;o)
