Blue Like Play Dough

I got signed up to read some books and then blog about it. If you post a comment at the end (or if it won't let you, send me an e-mail or write me on FB) I will put all the names in a hat and pull and name out. Then I will send you a free copy!

The book I read is called Blue Like Play Dough and it's by Tricia Goyer. Her website is http://www.triciagoyer.com/ You can get more info on it at RandomHouse.com

This book is awesome! A fast read if you don't have a lot of time to read it, kinda like me! :)

The first couple of chapters just totally grabbed me! We are always trying to find time to set aside for God and wait for Him to speak to us. We are always so busy going here and going there and doing this with our kids, then cooking, cleaning, etc.. we don't think He can meet us in our home, but that is where Tricia hears God. She has heard Him speak to her when she is cuddling with her little girl or playing with play dough with her kids.

Tricia has been through so much, having to take care of herself before going into 2nd grade and walking her brother home from school. She had a pretty tough life growing up... She got pregnant as a teen and had an abortion and got pregnant again, but decided that no matter how many dirty looks she got, she was going to keep this baby. I don't want to give any more away, this is such an awesome book and opened my eyes. We don't need to meet God only in church, we can meet Him wherever we are. We just have to be willing to LISTEN and take the time to listen to Him and what He wants to tell us.

As her story unfolds, Tricia realizes that God has more in store for her than she EVER imagined. He has so much in store for us too! But we just have to be willing to let Him Mold us, and Tricia had to learn that.
In Tricia's transparent account, you'll find laughter, understanding and inspiration for your own story. In the midst of our busy lives, we will find that the hands of God are at work and know that He has something WONDERFUL in store for us!

This is an awesome book and recommend it! Now I am not saying that we should'nt set time aside from God, but make sure you are listening to Him even when you are playing with your kids, cleaning the floors, or doing laundry. he will speak to you anywhere!

Post a comment, send me an e-mail, or write me on FB and will put all names in a hat and if I pick your name, you get a copy of this AWESOME book!!!

Run-Aways

Wow, this has seriously been an eventful week! Starting off with the whole fabric softener mis-hap, which you can read on here if you didn't see or hear about it! Then Curt left Monday nite, Tuesday, well, it was ok, we had mom's group and the kids were acting up a bit, but nothing too bad... Then Wednesday I had a meeting at the church... It started out ok, the meeting wasn't long at all! Gavin came into the room and said he wanted to go play outside on the playground. I told him no, because I couldn't see him. I said, what if someone came by and picked you up and grabbed you and took you somewhere? Mommy would never see you again and I would be soooo sad! I said, I can't see you, so you need to stay inside. Well, not more than 3 minutes passed and Kotah comes up to me and says, uh, mom, Gavin is trying to go outside. So, I get up, go over to him and talk. I asked him what is he doing? he says, I WANT to play OUTSIDE! I said, bubby, I can't see you, so you can...

Judah's Wife Book Review

I received this book from Bethany House for free if I agreed to read and then blog about it. Judah's Wife is by Angela Hunt. I've read a few of her books and absolutely enjoyed and loved them!  I was very excited to be picked to read this book! I've honestly not read anything from the books of Maccabees.  This story is the "silent years' between Malachi and Matthew. I really would like find Maccabees now to read it since I've read this book. This book was amazing! Love being able to read stories that really capture what it was like.  Angela Hunt has done this in this book. I really enjoyed how she told it from Judah's side and Leahs side.  It would go back and forth, but it wasn't confusing at all. Talks about Leahs up-bringing and how she struggled. Her father wasn't a real father figure and in time she realizes how much her mother protected her from her father and his blows. She struggles to truly love Judah at first who was somewhat fo...

Cancelled

What a busy crazy day! Curt left right away this morning around 7 to get his blood taken.  He got back and then Audrey got here.  We played and picked up for a bit then left to go to the Health Department to get our TB test done.  We got there around 10ish and they told us we needed to make an appointment.  So we waited for a bit to make an appointment.  Thankfully they had an opening for today yet.  They only do these tests on Friday, so we really didn't want to have to wait until next Friday if at all possible.  Got an appointment for 1:15 and 1:30.  I was thinking ugh, either no nap and very little nap, but I didn't care!  ;) Got home, cleaned up a bit more, got the kiddos some lunch, then we turned around and left to go back to the Health Department.  (I did NOT see the water guy! ;)) Got back there, got asked some questions, wanted to know why I need the test...  I said adoption.  They saw all the other 5 kids and as...
