Man, what is up with bad weeks lately?
Skylar had a fever after she woke up from her nap Sunday afternoon. It finally broke last nite before she went to bed. I gave her a bath Monday nite to help soothe and comfort her, but she SCREAMED through the whole thing!!! She usually LOVES it when she has a fever... Not so this time around.
Kotah also complained off and on Monday and today of her throat hurting.
Gavin woke up yesterday from his nap with a "bad head hurt" and he had a slight fever. So I made him eat a little supper, and then gave him some Tylenol to help his fever. It WORKED!!! :O) He is fine today!!! Skylar is better now too, but she is still a little fussy. She also has a slight runny nose.
After today, I had HAD IT!!!!!!!!!! The older two have been at it ALLLL day today and most of yesterday!!! I broke my "2 movies a week" rule, they've watched one every nite since Monday. It seems like that is the ONLY thing that will keep them quiet and they can actually sit on the same couch with out complaining and fussing and arguing! They have been at each other's throats!! I am to the point where I don't intervene! I let them at it and see if they can't figure it out!! (Let's just say they've had a LOT of time outs this week and toys taken away!) Kotah has been mouthing back to me like nobody's business and when I tell her to go to her room or sit in the corner, she says no, I am not gonna. Then she gets in more trouble, then STOMPS to where ever I told her to go, THROWS herself to the ground and cries.
I feel like I am soooooooo behind on EVERYTHING!!!! I did NOTHING Monday and Tuesday. Skylar would NOT let me put her down! (And when I did, let's just say, it's a good thing you don't live on our street!!! :O)) I was lucky to get them all fed!!
I put in a movie for the kids and came back upstairs to get some more things done. I had to go downstairs and put something away and Gavin came over and said "come sit here mom." I said, I am sorry bubby, I need to go do some more stuff. Then he asks, well, are you going to come after you done? I said, I dunno. I went upstairs and felt the guilt rush over me... I put one more thing away and went down to watch the rest of the movie with them. They don't care whether things are put away and if the dishes or laundry is done. They just want some mommy time. Kinda like God wants us to have Father/Daughter time or Father/Son time. I have slacked in my devos this week and feel bad about it! It makes the day usually worse for me if I miss spending time in prayer and in the Bible. I have listened to some sermons on my iPod, but that isn't the same as spending deep intimate time with God.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. 2 Samuel 22:32-33
Dear God,
Help me to spend MORE time with You than worrying about what my house looks like. Help me to spend the time I need to spend with the kids. I want them to see You shining through me and they can't see that if I am to busy trying to get everything done! Help them to get a good nite's sleep and ready to listen tomorrow. Fill me up Lord, I need You,
Amen
(Just a warning, if you some to my house, it will look like a BOMB went off... :O))
