Back To Normal... (if that's possible..)

We had some friends from MI come and visit a couple week-ends ago! We had a BLAST!!!! Chris and Samantha came LATE Friday and stayed til Tuesday!! I wish they were able to stay longer, but plans are for them to come out again in July or Aug!!! :O) We went to the Grand Opening of PETLAND! The kids LOVED looking at all the cute little puppies!! (Of course asking when we could get one! But then Kotah answered herself and said when the kitties die we can get a puppy. I think she may have overheard us a couple of times with this discussion! We have 2 cats and said that we can't get a puppy until they pass away.) Then we went to go see the Veggie Tale, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything movie! It was sooo good!!! Yes, we all sat in the theater! Even Skylar! She LOVED it!! I watched her facial expressions most of the time! It was soo funny to watch her watch the movie!!! :O) If you haven't seen it, go see it!!! It is AWESOME!!!!!! And of course Chris brought his XBOX 360, so we played some fun games with that!!!! Stayed up way tooo late a couple of nites!! :O)

Going to try to get back on track with school work for Kotah. We've kinda slacked off for about a month. We've done some, but not enough! I guess that's the beauty of being home schooled, you never really "behind"!!! With being sick with the flu about a month ago, and now a cold, it's not fun! Trying to stay caught up on laundry and make sure the kids are eating, and giving the right medicine to the right kid with the right dose! Ugh... I am on a salad and fruit diet right now! Why do you ask? I am trying to "clean" myself out! I got some detox tea to help. ;o) I am tired of being sick and want to see if this helps. Okay, so I kinda cheated 2 nites in a row. I made some scalloped potatoes and pork chops with a corn casserole, I HAD to try it, I did, just a little though, and had a big salad with that, then the other nite I made tacos and it smelled really yummy, so I had one too. No salad. But right back on track again today. (Oh, did I mention I had either nothing to eat or all fruit the days I actually ate "real" food? ;o)) I had fruit for lunch today and nice big ol salad for supper tonite. ;o) After the 2nd day I was also craving some chocolate, not any chocolate, but the Edy's Girl Scout Thin Mint ice cream that's in our freezer! I did NOT give in to that though!!! :O) I also have some thin mints that I made in the freezer, and am happy to say that when Curt offered me one, I declined. (What is wrong with me? I DECLINED a THIN MINT?!?!?!?! LOL) So, I will be on this for a couple more days and see what happens.
Wish me luck!!! :O)
Oh yeah, I do have one can of pepsi a day. ;o)

Run-Aways

Wow, this has seriously been an eventful week! Starting off with the whole fabric softener mis-hap, which you can read on here if you didn't see or hear about it! Then Curt left Monday nite, Tuesday, well, it was ok, we had mom's group and the kids were acting up a bit, but nothing too bad... Then Wednesday I had a meeting at the church... It started out ok, the meeting wasn't long at all! Gavin came into the room and said he wanted to go play outside on the playground. I told him no, because I couldn't see him. I said, what if someone came by and picked you up and grabbed you and took you somewhere? Mommy would never see you again and I would be soooo sad! I said, I can't see you, so you need to stay inside. Well, not more than 3 minutes passed and Kotah comes up to me and says, uh, mom, Gavin is trying to go outside. So, I get up, go over to him and talk. I asked him what is he doing? he says, I WANT to play OUTSIDE! I said, bubby, I can't see you, so you can...

Judah's Wife Book Review

I received this book from Bethany House for free if I agreed to read and then blog about it. Judah's Wife is by Angela Hunt. I've read a few of her books and absolutely enjoyed and loved them!  I was very excited to be picked to read this book! I've honestly not read anything from the books of Maccabees.  This story is the "silent years' between Malachi and Matthew. I really would like find Maccabees now to read it since I've read this book. This book was amazing! Love being able to read stories that really capture what it was like.  Angela Hunt has done this in this book. I really enjoyed how she told it from Judah's side and Leahs side.  It would go back and forth, but it wasn't confusing at all. Talks about Leahs up-bringing and how she struggled. Her father wasn't a real father figure and in time she realizes how much her mother protected her from her father and his blows. She struggles to truly love Judah at first who was somewhat fo...

Cancelled

What a busy crazy day! Curt left right away this morning around 7 to get his blood taken.  He got back and then Audrey got here.  We played and picked up for a bit then left to go to the Health Department to get our TB test done.  We got there around 10ish and they told us we needed to make an appointment.  So we waited for a bit to make an appointment.  Thankfully they had an opening for today yet.  They only do these tests on Friday, so we really didn't want to have to wait until next Friday if at all possible.  Got an appointment for 1:15 and 1:30.  I was thinking ugh, either no nap and very little nap, but I didn't care!  ;) Got home, cleaned up a bit more, got the kiddos some lunch, then we turned around and left to go back to the Health Department.  (I did NOT see the water guy! ;)) Got back there, got asked some questions, wanted to know why I need the test...  I said adoption.  They saw all the other 5 kids and as...
